Permanent resident status has no time limit. But the permanent resident card is reissued at set intervals.
You can apply if you have stayed on an F-6 for 2 years or more and meet the livelihood and basic knowledge requirements.
The fee to change your status to permanent resident (F-5) is ₩200,000.
Permanent residents do not need a re-entry permit if they return within 2 years after leaving Korea. If you will be away longer, get a permit in advance.
