How much are the immigration service fees?

The main fees are 60,000 KRW for a stay period extension, 100,000 KRW for a change of status of stay, and 35,000 KRW for issuing an Alien Registration Card. The amounts are set by the Enforcement Rule of the Immigration Act (출입국관리법 시행규칙). The review fee cannot be refunded once your application is accepted.

💡 Good to know

• Corporate investment (D-8) is exempt from extension and change fees.
• An E-9 extension is also exempt when it is due to a change in the employment contract period.
• Reporting a change of residence (address) is free.
• Workplace change 'permission' that you get before you move costs 120,000 KRW. A workplace change 'report' made within 15 days after moving by professional workers (E-1 to E-7) has no fee.

Where and how do I pay?

• For online applications on HiKorea (hikorea.go.kr), pay by card, bank transfer, or mobile phone payment. It must be in your own name.
• For in-person applications at the immigration office, you usually pay with revenue stamps or by card on site.
• Only the fee for issuing or reissuing an Alien Registration Card is paid in cash or with revenue stamps.
