How do I make a reservation to visit an Immigration Office (출입국·외국인관서)?

You make a visit reservation for an Immigration Office (출입국·외국인관서) online through HiKorea (하이코리아). If you go without a reservation, your application will not be accepted.¹

How to reserve

1. Go to HiKorea (www.hikorea.go.kr) and click 'Apply for a visit reservation'.²
2. Sign up and log in, or use non-member verification.²
3. Choose a date and time and make the reservation under your own real name.²
4. When the reservation is done, print your receipt from the [Visit Reservation - Visit Reservation Status] screen.²
5. Go to the Immigration Office in charge of your area at the reserved time and hand in the receipt.²

Important points

• You can apply for a reservation every day of the year.²
• You can reserve from the day after you apply. Same-day reservations are not allowed.²
• You can reserve a stay period extension from 4 months before your stay period expires.²
• You can cancel only until 1 day before your visit date. Same-day cancellation is not allowed.²
• Even if an agent or an administrative agency applies for you, the reservation must be made with the personal details of the applicant (the foreigner).²

• You can visit without a reservation to report a change of residence or a change of passport.¹
• If you take up reservation slots using another person's passport number or Alien Registration Number, you may receive up to 5 years in prison or a fine of up to 50,000,000 won.¹
• Some services, such as a stay period extension, can also be applied for online (e-civil service). Check before you visit. [4]
