When can I apply for an extension of my period of stay?
You can usually apply starting 4 months before your period of stay expires. You must apply before the expiration date passes.
During busy periods when many people's stays expire, visit reservations at the immigration office (출입국) fill up quickly, so it is safest to book on the first day you can apply.
