‹ FAQ · Extending your period of stay

If I have unpaid health insurance premiums, will it cause problems with my extension?

If you have not paid health insurance premiums above a certain amount, you may face disadvantages when extending your stay, such as a shorter permitted period.

Check whether you have any unpaid premiums with the National Health Insurance Service (국민건강보험공단) at 1577-1000 (press 7 for foreign languages). If you owe anything, it is safer to pay it before applying for an extension.
