‹ FAQ · Departure and re-entry
Do I need a re-entry permit if I leave Korea for a short time?
If you have completed Alien Registration (외국인등록), you usually do not need a re-entry permit when you return within 1 year of the day you leave. For permanent residents (F-5), the period is 2 years.
If you plan to stay outside Korea longer than that, you must get a re-entry permit before you leave, and you must come back before your period of stay expires.
