‹ FAQ · Departure and re-entry

What happens if my period of stay expires?

If you stay in Korea after your period of stay has ended, you become an illegal overstayer (불법체류). You may face serious penalties, such as a fine (범칙금), deportation, and a ban on re-entering Korea.

When your expiration date is near, you should apply for an extension or a change of status in advance. K-VISA AI will notify you step by step before your expiration date.
