2026.11.05 · 1 min read · 법무부 보도자료- Seoul office users / opened Oct 30 / new Munjeong-dong building
- Service space is 3 times larger than the old building
- 1345 center and online center also moved in
1What happened?
On October 30, the Ministry of Justice held an opening ceremony for the new Seoul Immigration Office building in the Munjeong-dong legal district, Songpa-gu, Seoul. The office opened in Mokdong, Yangcheon-gu in 1990 and has now moved after about 36 years.
The new building has 3 times more space for handling civil services than the old one. This should shorten waiting times and make the place more comfortable.
The 1345 Foreigner Information Center and the Online Stay and Visa Service Center had been run in rented outside buildings. They are now together inside the new building. For the exact start date of services and visit details, check the original notice or call 1345.
2How does it affect me?
If you handle stay matters at the Seoul-area immigration office, you may use the new Munjeong-dong building from now on. If you live elsewhere and use a different immigration office, this does not directly affect you.
3What should I do?
- 1Check the address and place on HiKorea before you visit
- 2If you already have a visit booked, check whether the place has changed
- 3For detailed criteria, check the original notice or call 1345
