To live in Korea with your Korean spouse, you need a marriage visa (F-6). The steps are: ① register your marriage in both Korea and Taiwan ② translate your Taiwanese documents into Korean and get confirmation from the Korean Mission in Taipei (주타이베이대한민국대표부) (Taiwan does not use the apostille) ③ apply for the visa. K-VISA quotes its fee after reviewing your requirements, and we refund 100% of the fee if the visa is denied due to K-VISA's fault.
In short: register your marriage in both places → translate your documents and get mission confirmation → apply for the marriage visa. Taiwan does not use the apostille, so following the right confirmation order matters most.
If you marry in Taiwan first, the marriage must also be reported to Korea within 3 months.

Korean Ministry of Justice F-6 standardsIt looks complicated, but you only need to remember three steps. ① Marriage registration → ② Document certification → ③ Visa application
Taiwan does not use the apostille, so documents only take effect after confirmation by the mission of the place where they will be used.

K-VISA's service fee depends on where you are and your documents and requirements, so we quote it after reviewing your requirements. Actual costs such as government fees, translation and mission confirmation are separate. Consultation and pre-check are free, and we refund 100% of the fee if the visa is denied due to K-VISA's fault.
After registering your marriage in both Korea and Taiwan, your Korean spouse gets a Visa Issuance Confirmation (사증발급인정서) in Korea, or you apply for the marriage visa (F-6) at the Korean Mission in Taipei (주타이베이대한민국대표부). If you are already staying in Korea legally, we also check whether you can change your visa in Korea. Once the visa is issued, you enter Korea and complete alien registration (외국인등록).
Your Korean spouse needs a passport, Basic Certificate (기본증명서), Family Relation Certificate (가족관계증명서) and Marriage Relation Certificate (혼인관계증명서) (detailed), income and employment documents, and housing documents. You need a passport and household registration transcript (戶籍謄本), and your Taiwanese documents need a Korean translation and mission confirmation. You both also submit a statement of how you met, plus photos and message records.
Either works. If you are both in Taiwan, couples often register at a Taiwanese Household Registration Office first. If you are in Korea, couples often register in Korea first. We choose the right order for your situation in the pre-check.
The standard changes every year, and even if income is a little short, assets or other means can sometimes make up the difference. We check this first in the pre-check and find a way together.
You just need to show that the two of you can talk in a shared language. We'll tell you which evidence to prepare.
Taiwanese spouses are not required to take the international marriage guidance program. But the standards can change, so we'll double-check this in your consultation.
If you've already registered your marriage, about 5–8 weeks on average. If you're starting from marriage registration, about 3–4 months on average (based on K-VISA's processing time; immigration review time is separate).
If you apply in Taiwan, there may be a couple interview at the Korean Mission in Taipei (주타이베이대한민국대표부). We'll prepare sample questions and how to answer them with you in advance.
You can fill in what was missing and apply again. And if the visa is denied due to K-VISA's fault, we refund 100% of the fee.
Check whether the agency is registered as an immigration application agent, whether it can handle Taiwanese documents (marriage-related certificates, certification and translation), whether it speaks a language you can communicate in, and whether the fee and its responsibility if the visa is denied are written in the contract. K-VISA is a registered immigration application agent (No. 19-IC-RG-041). We publish 50 approved marriage visa cases (as of October 2026) and have laid out the marriage registration and marriage visa steps country by country for 20 countries, including Taiwan. We also share YouTube interview reviews from Korean–Taiwanese couples. We consult in 6 languages, and we refund 100% of the fee if the visa is denied due to K-VISA's fault.
